Choosing Between HubSpot and Pipedrive for Your Sales Pipeline

Cover image for Choosing Between HubSpot and Pipedrive for Your Sales Pipeline

HubSpot vs Pipedrive comes down to how much you want one system to do. HubSpot is a wider platform that starts with a free CRM and adds marketing, sales, service and content tools. Pipedrive is built around the sales pipeline, with four paid plans and a free trial instead of a free plan.

Both companies publish their prices, so this comparison uses their own pricing pages, in US dollars, as checked on 22 October 2026. Prices change and can differ by country, so check the pages again before you buy.

The short answer

  • Choose HubSpot if you want to start for free, or you want marketing, sales and service tools in one place as you grow.
  • Choose Pipedrive if your main need is a clear sales pipeline for a sales team, on simple per-seat plans.

Either way, a CRM only helps if your team uses it every day. Picking the tool is the quick part. Setting up the stages, fields and automations to match how you sell takes longer, and that setup is part of our automation services.

HubSpot: free to start

HubSpot's pricing page for its free tools lists a Free plan at $0 a month for up to 2 users, with no credit card required. Its FAQ says you can add 1,000 contacts, the free access has no time limit, and free accounts can connect to Gmail, G Suite and many versions of Outlook.

The next step up is Starter, which HubSpot describes as essential marketing, sales, service, content and data management software. On 22 October 2026, the page showed Starter from $7 per seat a month as a limited-time offer for new customers, against a regular $20.

HubSpot's bigger plans

For larger sales teams, HubSpot's Sales Hub pricing lists two more editions (checked on 22 October 2026):

  • Professional: from $90 per seat a month (regular $100), plus a required one-time onboarding fee of $1,500.
  • Enterprise: from $150 per seat a month, plus a required one-time onboarding fee of $3,500.

Those onboarding fees matter when you compare first-year costs. HubSpot's AI features and agents, such as its Prospecting Agent and Customer Agent, run on HubSpot Credits: the Sales Hub page shows 500 credits with Starter, 3,000 with Professional and 5,000 with Enterprise. Pipedrive: four paid plans and a free trial

Pipedrive's pricing page lists four plans, priced per seat per month and billed annually (checked on 22 October 2026):

  • Lite, US$14: lead, calendar and pipeline management, AI-powered report creation and 500+ integrations.

  • Premium, US$49: adds lead generation and routing, custom lead scoring, AI email tools, and contracts with e-signatures.
  • Ultimate, US$69: adds stronger account security, phone and email data enrichment, a sandbox account and longer phone support.

Every plan has a free 14-day trial, and Pipedrive says no credit card is needed. On 22 October 2026, the page said annual billing saves up to 26% compared with monthly billing. There is no free plan.

Pipedrive's add-ons

Some Pipedrive features are sold as add-ons on top of a plan. The pricing page lists LeadBooster, Projects, Campaigns for email marketing, Web Visitors and Smart Docs, each with its own starting price. If you plan to send email campaigns from your CRM, add that cost to your comparison, or look at dedicated marketing automation tools built for that job.

How to choose

Answer these before you sign up for either:

  • Who will use it? Only salespeople, or marketing and support too?
  • How do you want to start? Free, or with a paid trial?
  • What must it connect to? Your email, calendar, website forms and other tools.
  • Who will set it up and keep the data clean?

Test the website side too. Leads should go straight from your forms into the CRM, so send a test message through every form, as we suggest in how to design a website from scratch. A focused landing page for each offer also makes it easier to see which campaigns bring in deals. Once leads arrive reliably, workflow automation can handle follow-ups and reminders.

Setting up your CRM properly

Whichever CRM you pick, start small: define your sales stages, the few fields every deal needs and one or two automations. Add more once the team uses it every day.
