AI SEO Audit: Find What Keeps AI Tools From Citing You
An AI SEO audit shows how well your site works for Google and for AI-driven search tools, and what to fix first. We review technical health, content, and entity signals. We also test how ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, and Google AI Mode describe your business today. You get a ranked fix list, not a pile of tool exports.

What the audit reviews
The audit looks at six areas. Each one can stop an AI tool from finding, trusting, or quoting your pages.
- Crawler access – We check robots.txt rules for Googlebot, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, and ClaudeBot. We also check CDN and firewall settings, since some block AI crawlers by default.
- Rendering – We compare raw HTML with the rendered page. Some AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, so content that loads only through scripts may be invisible to them.
- Indexing and site health – We review Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools for indexing gaps, duplicate pages, canonical errors, and slow templates.
- Content quality – We flag thin, outdated, or conflicting pages, and pages that bury the answer far below the fold.
- Entity signals – We check structured data, your About page, and whether your name, address, and offers match across the web.
- AI answer check – We run a sample of buyer prompts across major AI tools and record mentions, citations, and factual errors.
How the AI SEO analysis works
Step 1: At kickoff we agree on your priority products, markets, and competitors. You give us access to Search Console, GA4, your CMS, and server logs if you have them. Step 2: We crawl the site with tools such as Screaming Frog or Sitebulb and review the logs for AI crawler visits.
Step 3: We run the prompt tests and compare your answers with competitors. Step 4: We score each issue by likely impact and effort. Step 5: We walk you through the findings on a call and answer questions from your developers and writers.
What you receive at the end
You get a written report in plain language. Each finding explains what is wrong, why it matters, how to fix it, and who should own the fix. Developer tasks are written so they can go straight into a ticket.
You also get a spreadsheet of prompt results. It shows which AI tools mention you, which sources they cite, and where they get facts wrong. That becomes the baseline for any later work.
Problems we often look for
Some issues come up again and again. A security setting blocks AI crawlers without anyone noticing. Pricing or product details sit inside tabs or widgets that only load with JavaScript. Two pages state different prices or features, so AI tools pick one at random.
Other issues are about trust. The About page is thin, or schema markup lists an old address. Review profiles and directory listings disagree with the site. Each of these is fixable, and the report shows which to tackle first. Entity fixes often lead into our entity and schema optimization work.
Audit pricing and next steps
You get a clear price in your free proposal, after we look at your goals. Cost depends on site size, the number of AI platforms and prompts we test, and whether server logs are available. Large ecommerce or multi-location sites take more time to crawl and review.
After the audit, your team can make the fixes, or we can handle them in a monthly plan. Many clients move on to Google AI Overviews optimizationor broader AI SEO services. The audit tells you where you stand. It does not promise rankings or AI mentions.

FAQ
AI SEO Audit Services: questions
It depends on site size and how quickly we get access. We give you a delivery date in the written scope before we start. Larger sites with log analysis take longer than small brochure sites.
A regular audit focuses on Google rankings. This one also checks AI crawler access, rendering for crawlers that skip JavaScript, entity consistency, and what AI tools actually say about you. The technical SEO basics are still included.
It will show where the wrong facts likely come from, such as old pages, listings, or third-party articles. We cannot edit an AI model directly. We can show you which sources to correct.
No. The report is written so your own team can act on it. If you want help, we can quote the fixes separately or as part of a monthly plan.
They are helpful but not required. Logs show whether AI crawlers actually visit your pages. Without them, we rely on robots.txt, firewall settings, and test fetches.
